Ramadan changes the rhythm of your whole day. You wake before sunrise for Sehri, break your fast at Iftar, make time for Salah and look forward to the peaceful nights of worship.
If you’re fasting in London during Ramadan 2027, this calendar puts the important times in one place. You can use it to plan your Sehri, Iftar and daily prayers throughout the month.
Ramadan 2027/1448 AH is expected to begin on Monday, 8 February 2027. The Muslim Council of Britain currently lists Wednesday, 10 March 2027 as the expected date for Eid al-Fitr. These dates remain subject to moonsighting.
Note: The timetable below follows published London calculations using the ISNA/Hanafi method. Prayer times can vary slightly between mosques, so check your local mosque’s timetable before relying on an online calendar.
The First Ashra of Ramadan (Days of Mercy)
The first Ashra of Ramadan is commonly associated with Rahmah, meaning mercy. These first ten days give Muslims a chance to turn to Allah, ask for His mercy and increase their worship through Salah, Qur’an, Dhikr, charity and sincere Dua.
Mercy remains a central theme during these opening days. Muslims can ask Allah to forgive their shortcomings, accept their worship and shower them with His mercy. You can also make Dua in your own words and ask Allah for whatever goodness you need.
A Dua for Mercy
رَبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Rabbi ighfir warham wa anta khayrur raahimeen
Translation: My Lord, forgive me and have mercy on me, and You are the Best of the Merciful. (Surah Al-Mu’minun, 23:118)

Thinking About Umrah at the Start of Ramadan?
If you want to spend part of Ramadan in Makkah or Madinah, the first ten days may fit more easily around work, school or other commitments.
You can compare shorter trips with longer stays and choose the dates that work best for you.
The Second Ashra of Ramadan (Days of Forgiveness)
The second Ashra is all about Maghfirah, forgiveness. These ten days are for turning back to Allah, asking Him to forgive our sins and hoping our worship these days is accepted.
During this Ashra, Muslims can increase their Istighfar & make sincere Dua and turn away from sins. They ask Allah to forgive their mistakes, accept their repentance and guide them towards what is good.
A Dua for Forgiveness
اسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ رَبِّي مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ
Astaghfirullaha Rabbi min kulli dhanbin wa atoobu ilayh
Translation: I seek forgiveness from Allah, my Lord, from every sin, and I turn to Him in repentance.

The Third Ashra of Ramadan (Days of Salvation)
The third Ashra begins with the final ten days of Ramadan. Muslims give these nights special attention because Laylat al-Qadr, the Night of Decree, falls within them.
Allah describes Laylat al-Qadr in the Qur’an as “better than a thousand months.” Muslims seek this blessed night throughout the final ten nights, especially on the odd nights, and increase their Salah, Qur’an recitation, Dhikr and Dua.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught Aishah (RA) a special Dua to recite when seeking Laylat al-Qadr.
A Dua for Salvation
اللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّارِ
Allāhumma ajirnī min an-nār
Translation: O Allah, save me from the Hellfire.
Important Nights in the Final Ten Days
Based on the expected calendar, the odd nights fall around these dates:
Ramadan Night | Expected Date |
21st Night | Evening of 28 February |
23rd Night | Evening of 2 March |
25th Night | Evening of 4 March |
27th Night | Evening of 6 March |
29th Night | Evening of 8 March |
These dates follow the expected start of Ramadan. Laylat al-Qadr doesn’t have a confirmed fixed date, so Muslims seek it throughout the final ten nights rather than relying on one particular night.
